School Updates and Clarification

Governor Hogan’s announcement on Thursday underscores the importance of getting our students back for in-person education as soon as it can be safely done.  I am proud to represent two counties with school systems that have announced a plan to have some level of safe in-person instruction this fall.  I have been in contact with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE)  throughout the summer to get answers to the questions that our local school systems have asked as they diligently worked on their re-opening plans and through the guidance issued by the State.  Independent of the announcement from MSDE this close to the beginning of the school year, schools in St. Mary’s County and Calvert County will be moving forward with their previously announced recovery plans.  More information about the recovery plans being implemented by Calvert County Public Schools and St. Mary’s County Public Schools can be found at the links below:
